My husband and I have supported and witnessed the incredible impact of the Christmas Car Project for years, never imagining we’d one day be on the receiving end. In late 2024, our world shifted when my husband severely broke his leg, forcing him out of his construction job. By mid-2025, he was offered a life-changing apprenticeship—but it required a reliable vehicle to commute two hours daily. With only one dependable car between us, it felt impossible.
That’s when our community stepped in. Multiple people nominated us, and through the compassion of others and the Christmas Car Project, we were gifted a safe, reliable vehicle. This act of generosity allowed my husband to pursue a new career and gave our family the stability we so desperately needed.
Having seen firsthand the care that goes into every nomination and car gifted, I can confidently say: the Christmas Car Project changes lives. It changed ours.
Peace of Mind
I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the generous gift of a car that I have received. As a mother of three children, this car has had a profound impact on our daily lives, and I wanted to take a moment to share just how much it has meant to us.
Before receiving the car, I faced numerous challenges getting my children to school, medical appointments, and extracurricular activities. Public transportation was often unreliable, and walking or biking was not always a viable option, especially with young children. The added stress of these logistical hurdles made it difficult for me to fully focus on my family's well-being and my responsibilities.
Since receiving the car, everything has changed. I now have the ability to get my children where they need to go—safely, on time, and without the constant worry about transportation. This has allowed me to be more present in their lives, from attending school events to ensuring they get to doctor’s appointments and after-school activities without hassle.
This car has also provided me with newfound peace of mind. Not only does it enable me to better care for my children, but it has also opened up new opportunities for employment and community involvement that I could not pursue before. Being able to reliably get to work or take my kids to places they need to be has made a world of difference for our quality of life.

Fuel for a Fresh Start
In January 2024, I was a mother starting over. I had just moved across the country with my two children, my car, a tiny trailer, and what little we had left from the last ten years of our life together. We came looking for safety, healing, and a fresh start. I managed to find a part-time job and began rebuilding our lives — but six months in, my only car broke down.
Without transportation, I couldn’t get to work, buy groceries, or take my children where they needed to go. I was on the verge of losing the fragile stability we had just begun to find.
I knew about all the wonderful things The Cache County Christmas Car Project had done but to be honest, I didn’t quite believe it was real when Santa showed up at my door with Jason. That moment didn’t feel real. But it was. They had chosen me. They had found a van, fixed it, cleaned it, and even provided the money I needed to register it in my own name.
That van didn’t just get me back on the road — it gave me the ability to keep moving forward. I was able to keep my job, stay independent, and continue caring for my children without interruption. And let me tell you, my kids were thrilled — they finally had a car with working air conditioning!
Now, a year later, we are stronger, more stable, and deeply grateful. The Cache County Christmas Car Project changed the trajectory of our lives, and I know we’re not the only family who can say that.
